Life Now And Then
by Susan Heim

Through the rough country and wide open space's there's mountiain and terrain's to be seen and captured through the day.
short and long small and tall ones.
The land filled open spaces remain the same from centurey's of torment from the mijss use of the lands we take for granted.

Were heading back home from Arizona from the bueatifull land were the cactus grow and palm tree's grow.
with old house trimmed with christmas decoration's around the doors and windows to. sleak gardens tended neat through,
eventhough they are mainly gravell stoned and sand's two. plants hang from the house,
in front of the door's and pretty flower 's growing with pink blooms and blinds on the the windows out side to.

I look across towards the mountians higher then the next so neatly some of them and some out of shape in place's it's all so true..
Road's are plain but mostly dusty with car's and trucks passing by me i see thier flaurie of dusty in the mirror not settling down
but flying by through glass like the wide sea's rushing by.
Plain's land and not took of yet not able to reach the sky's high above the clouds..
The woundering roads so closely to gether and long side by side lights changing one and two to pass,
from lanes to lane's like she frames that the pictures does not show to us all..

Listing to the country music plaqing in the back about the things we should have done and life we all could have had.
Remmbering thier's times we kept storie's alive now we them so well in time past and now and then it's all so long ago.
try to think and dream of what it was like in time's past when the cowboy's rode thier horse with pride and also protecting ,
thier land now its gone some still own thier lands from way back then handed down from generation to genertation's of family's
ramshackled buildings broken never thought of life in thier which should have been to us and them from with in there hearts,
counted mostly to those who lost thier herateige but will regain this once more and rebuild it once again..

To be the fertile land it use to be and in the land of the free when life wasn,t as bad as they once thought it to be...
Sunshine in the desert high and bright through afternoon travelling hard and long against the roads through the desert's sands ,
and blowing hard amonsgt the floor's and around the catus through thier bristle's and blades old burned out grass sun beating.
down on to the veircals so hot and condencing heat in to the faces of the drivers thats passing us all by.
Road signs repaeting all the different things we need to eat"ie"Mc Dondalds , and resertruaghts, and motels to that we stop[ and sleep at .
kids talking in the back ground and laughing in the car mentioning the different smells of the country we driving by and smelling thier wiff's,
to make you want to hold your nose so bad till it all gose by and passes you on the road so quickly.

seening all the farmers pestosides spray's in the feilds all linded up like cars on a street.
truckers going about thier daily lifes running by us getting thier loads to and fro and passing each by.
Service stops for one to use the "loo" buildings old and new intergrated to to match the landscape all the way through.
we came through tucson, now were closing in on elpaso which means were not far from texas .

We went on top of Amountain in "ARIZONA" which was what the indians use to use as look out ,
now they go thier in feista times and religious also to pray for lost souls and familys once who live thier.
Thier lands not theirs but free for all to live thier but in thier hearts its still remains all there's for they are the grandchildren .
great grandchildren and children now who have took on land and bought to use thier to teach with and cultitavait with the
works for familys who shall take this on in the future and along time to come from now.

The mountains if they could talk would tell us all this is the land with one's life to be loved and full of the souls.
of rich lifes and stories to be told of they hide the secerates never will be now told.
Night time through the dusty roads and traffic so busy this evening and slowly taking this siroursly.
still working hard this life through this amazing country we call texas, soon to be going through another city called Sweetwater.
or Aberline one of which were are going to spend the night their and carrie on through tomorrow and then resting the night after in another
town tomorrow evening and shall go further after nightsrest till were home in williamsport.
this trips been an eye opener as thiers many things to been seen and lots to say with whats been saught after all my life i never
new how to feel about my self or my native land and home england but i do beleive i have found true happiness and my new home
from where i came from as my heraiege is mine from my forebearers now its mine because iam back home.

When i married in august i was happy with my dession of moving from one house to another but now this one of
the biggest i have ever had to decide but its one i'll nevewr regret in my life now i am mom and house wife and love
i never new i had with my speical love of my husband all the way this trip we both made to Arizona and through texas and elpaso,
now coming up to another city i do say.
