What I hide,
Is what you will not see,
Until you know,
The lonely girl inside of me.
The lonely girl I try to hide,
Way down deep inside.
Beneath my appearance the secrets lie,
Behind my eyes I softly cry.
Behind my smile, I silently scream.
Behind the comments is sarcasm that's mean.
Beneath the so-called perfect life,
I struggle with my pain and strife.
So please don't judge me until you know,
about the seeds of pain I gently sew.
About the lonely girl inside of me,
who only wants to be able to see,
the happiness that my appearance shows.
Please get to know her,
for she is sad and insecure,
Please be her friend and maybe you will see,
that the lonely little girl is the real me.
