Offering My Heart
by Betty Eskdale (Age: 63)
copyright 06-16-2001

Age Rating: 13 to 127

I sang for her,
A love song for her ears alone,
She listened.

I spoke to her
Of my undying love for her,
And she nodded.

I sketched for her,
A picture of exquisite delicacy,
And she glanced.

I wrote for her,
A poem praising her beauty,
And she scanned the lines.

I displayed my love for her,
In word and deed,
And she watched.

Then a clown came by,
Somersaulted
And she smiled.

Yo Baby!! This was a good one, and free verse at that!!! You're getting closer and closer to prose, Betty...Watch out. BTW We have adopted Robert D. Furrow into our little clan (see comment on poem by mikita "rings")Buns

Thank you, Susan. My only open verse, I think, but it seemed to only be "sayable" that way.
