I sang for her,
A love song for her ears alone,
She listened.
I spoke to her
Of my undying love for her,
And she nodded.
I sketched for her,
A picture of exquisite delicacy,
And she glanced.
I wrote for her,
A poem praising her beauty,
And she scanned the lines.
I displayed my love for her,
In word and deed,
And she watched.
Then a clown came by,
Somersaulted
And she smiled.
