Names scratched on charcoaled terrain,
White River, Timbered Ridge, Tiller, Florence.

Names burned on steep sided mountains,
Eyerly, Monument, Sour Biscuit.

Names that rage down shriveled hills,
Hemlock, Cache Mountain, Winter, Tiller.

Names seared on parched trunks,
Tool Box, Florence, Timbered Ridge.

Names inscribed in blowing ash,
Sour Biscuit, Monument, Hemlock.

Names blazed across a hot Oregon summer.
A harsh fire season litany of destruction.

A great memorable to all the suffering brought through this really harsh fire season. So sad how in an instant all of one's dreams and possessions can be turned to ash.
