Bound to the presence that resides within my soul;
I cannot escape the shadow of my alter ego.
A force takes control of which is unknown;
Are these feelings truly my own?
Battling with myself for my very heart;
Struggling to not be torn apart.
Overwhelming power is an inevitable curse;
Into the subconscious I am immersed.
Restraining the bidding of a cryptic identity:
Strong intellect or innocent serenity?
Plummeting into the abyss of twin,
My mentality fighting for either side to win.
Lost in the trauma of a war of wits—
A compelling coercion inclined to commit.
I am on the verge of emotional break;
The enigmatic entity I wish to forsake.
The boundaries arise between two personalities:
One seeks life, and the other, fatalities.
Combating persona for command of the mind;
Is there future courage I can one day hope to find?

*whistle* Very, very nice! Sounds like a kind of theme poem/song for a Final Fantasy or any book, movie, or video game with lots of story line!
I really liked your choice of words here, giving it a really fanciful feeling but still making it applicable to reality. The beginning was epic, but slowed down a little in the end. The poem is solid and pretty balanced, but due to the slight drop in the overall feeling in the end, I'd give it a four and 1/4.
