Went off for a sail one evening
as dusk took her final bow.
Seeking some peace for my spirit,
away from the here and the now.
Welcoming dark's flawless blanket,
crescent moon tucked under earth's chin,
stars holding quiet sage council

spellbound and in awe of this vision,
afraid to take even a breath.
Time paused in this place,in the stillness,
then as one we both turned to the sky
each offering silent communion,
to the power that watched from on high.
The singer then left, but his song stayed,
echos etched, deeply into my soul,
I turned and sailed home to the daybreak,
with a heart now at peace, and now whole
