Emotionless Emotion
by Patricia Boudreau (Age: 57)
copyright 08-12-2002

Age Rating: 18 to 127

What was that old elusive
feeling
I can't quite now seem to
recall
I do remember, senses
reeling
I remember well, the pain the
fall

You never once admitted
you
held this feeling about
me
I think I tried, and yet I
knew
you did not own the eyes to
see

your world is colored black and
white
I seek for rainbows here in
mine
your heart has closed itself to
sight
you will not ever cross that
line

Do I stay now, or regain
motion
nothing seems real
anymore
you in there free from all
emotion
keys discarded, close the
door,

You in there...close the door. This poem was printed in black and white for Emotionless Emotion to hear loud and clear, I think.

Hard to explain how one person can hurt so much as another feels nothing on the same subject. I hope rainbows appeared to chase away the numbness. Opened new doors. Brightly colored doors that didn't need slamming shut.
