Caught in the Darkness
by Jessica Conley (Age: 18)
copyright 08-13-2002

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Little girl, alone in tears,
Worst child born in years.
Left alone, in this bleak night,
Far away is dawn's light.
The sky seems to bleed my blood,
I'd run away if I could.
No where to run, no where to hide,
I'm caught in darkness' deadly tide.
I can't escape, I can't breathe,
The sadness inside me seems to seethe.
My heart feels like it's been ripped out,
I turn my head and try to shout.
No matter how hard I cry,
No matter how hard I try.
No one come to get me,
No one will come and save me.
There's so many things that need to be said,
But pretty soon, I'll be dead.
Caught in the darkness, and the silence of night,
I will never see the dawning light.

Jessica this poem would relate to my daughter when she was a child she was so afraid of the dark. I know she didn't express how she realy felt she was to small. I still see good potentual in your work. I really enjoyed the read. It held truth in it. DIXIE LEE
