Beginner's Computer Lament
by Cristina Lipp
copyright 08-16-2002

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Total chaos, insanity...
My year-old computer still amazes me!
It speaks 'binary',
A language I don't understand;
And tries to confound me
At every chance.

I'm buried in software right up to my ears;
And armed with my manual,
Insecurities and fears;
I face the C-O-M-P-U-T-E-R.. The battle begins.
No need to discuss it;
We all know who wins.

Cold metal and buttons and wires within
A mindless contraption
That thinks like a brain!
I love my computer, now don't get me wrong;
But I can't get the darn thing
To do what I want!

Hehe, your poem made me laugh. I know exactly what you mean. This computer was driving me insane with all the problems it had, but we finally managed to get it updated (it wouldn't let us at first)... Sheesh...
Wonderful work!

That my dear is understable from that brain part of the computer. No one could write too many poems about the computer I find out new things about it every day. Loved this poem. DIXIE LEE

Terrific sentiment. I love this thought. How many of us would love just once to get out hands on the person that created the computer.
