Mercy

  Mercy

From those arid and scorched valleys of pain, sin and smothering, gnawing despair
seek the Lord’s grace so abounding in unconditional care
by lifting one’s eyes hidden deep within faith’s sleepy arousing soul
to give wing’s unto the heart that salvation’s awakening has made whole.

Rejoice in awe at the timeless mystery of the vastness of His endless love
ever caressing us softly, yet tensely like the feathers from a dove
when He blesses us continually with rays of radiant, harmonious peace,
which ignites the shadowy haunts of self with a flickering hope for a perfect release.

Proclaim with ceaseless celebration God’s forgiveness for our past
donning a saint’s robe of obedience that His spirit will make last
and bring a vibrant wreath of exultation to the ebbing discontent
embracing with thanksgiving the knowledge of why Christ’s blood was spent.

Let the pangs of pure adoration erupt
in resounding swells of crystal chorus praise
for the mercy of the Most High
that He bestows upon our sinful ways.

Pray in fierce and flaring adulation of passionate redemptive acclaim
as the Holy Spirit’s comforting raiment
now clothes
our fleshly form so soiled by sin’s deep abiding stain.

Beatiful pictures and another GREAT JOB.

If only I could kneel at the cross and lift my face in prayer to the grace of Christ with constancy and lasting devotion to his love. Instead, I waffle and backslide always, until the next time I am fearful of death. A wonderful poem William and a message we should all heed, though I am intensely aware that few, if any of us, will do so.

William,
I really enjoyed this poem, especially these lines..'Rejoice in awe at the timeless mystery of the vastness of His endless love
ever caressing us softly, yet tensely like the feathers from a dove'
