No Muse Equals Blank Pages

A blank page
stares me in the face,
daring me to sully it with my scribblings.
The blankness mocks me,
as I try to write my thoughts
and I find myself blocked.
If I had a talent for writing,
something more than the average
'run-of-the-mill' churnings of
an author wannabe,
perhaps this blank page wouldn't
dare me to defile it.
If I were, in fact, an author,
I wouldn't be intimidated by
this blank page.
My muse would be there to fill the pages,
like automatic writing at Seances.
My fingers would fly on the keyboard,
writing fantasy, fiction, fact, poetry and prose....
but, alas.....
I am not a Real author,
I have no muse.....
But I do have my inner music
And one day,
the blank page won't daunt me
from writing down my inner music,
and then, perhaps,
I'll be an author.

Guten tag, Kitchen Frau. Danka re: your comments on my "work", liebchen! Mayhap I'll continue to scribble out miserable pieces of tripe such as the above 'poem". BTW: I got published in a magazine, here in Canada! Neat to see your name in print. Viederzein! Bunny
You wrote that piece - you're a real author. How many of us feel that way sometimes? I know I do. And then I'll sit down and write something .. anything just to bring that muse out of hiding. Many times it's not the greatest, but hey, I get myself going. I liked your poem.
Well, for lacking a muse, you still did a great job with your poem. Sometimes, we all get dry spots in those valleys of seeking. But there is always inspiring ahead.
We're not looking for perfection,
We only want to read
Your words may be inspiring
To those of us in need;
Unless we think our own words great
We feel the way you do
Simply writing the things you feel
We get to know the real you.
Yup, Billy. I have tons of saved files with only one or two sentences or phrases written, and a working title. I'm so busy these days, making saddles and bridles and things that go bump in the night (LOL)..that I don't seem to have the creativity to write anymore. And so, my leaather pieces receive my inspirations...Thanks for reading, and commenting. Bunny
