Just For A While
by Cristina Lipp
copyright 08-19-2002

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Just for a while, you chose to stay
And share with me a part of you.
You taught me much. I taught you some;
And through it all we had such fun.
Our friendship grew although we knew
That one day soon you would be gone.

For a little while my sun shone brighter;
A friendly smile, a cheerful ‘hi'
My spirit lit, my heart seemed lighter.
And in the morning's hazy temper;
When nothing else could enter
My private world .. your laughter did.

So long, my friend; just for a while
We'll go our separate ways;
Not teary-eyed, but with a smile
Until we meet again.
And when the summer sun shines through,
Our spirits will soar high
Knowing good-bye was not forever;
T'was only for a while!
