My Only Love
by Elizabeth Schalchlin (Age: 24)
copyright 08-19-2002

Age Rating: 10 to 127

((Written 1998, Age 14, as a song))

Here today, gone tomorrow
the years have just flown by.
And now you're gone, maybe forever
and I'm trying not to cry.
How I miss your tender kiss
and your hand holding mine,
and I pray that someday we'll be together,
for I'll love you til the end of time.

My only love, my heart's affection,
the one that I adore.
My only love, true perfection,
my soul mate forevermore.

and maybe someday we'll meet again,
and my heart can go on.
Until then you're in my soul.
My only love.

The day you left, my heart just died,
my soul cried out in vain.
Tears flowed down these cheeks you've kissed,
my life was filled with pain.

How could I live without you?
Who'd kiss my tears away?
Who'd hold me closely oh-so-tight
and help my fight my fears away?

My only love, my heart's affection,
the one and only I adore.
My only love, true perfection,
I'll love you forevermore.
and maybe someday we'll meet again,
and my heart can go on
until then,
you're in my soul,
without you, I'm losing control.
Oh how I, love you so,
my only love.

This reminds me of the song, "There Goes My Reason For Living", which was finally transformed into a gospel song called, "You Are My Reason For Living".
