Writer's Block
by Amber McCabe
copyright 08-25-2002

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Long I have sat,
staring into my computer screen.
Words roll through my head;
none form sentences.

My screen remains blank.

I walk aimlessly around my house,
staring at things of interest to me.
Ideas pop into my mind;
none create stories.

My screen remains blank.

Again I find my way into my room,
staring down at the strands of my carpet.
Nothing fills my brain;
nothing.

My screen remains blank...

For those of you who have read the 'Joshua' story - this is what I'm going through right now for it.

I can relate to that. You know how many stories I have started then throw aside just to start another one???? Don't you just hate the computer when it stares back at you with nothing but a 'blank' stare?????
You put the feeling well.

Something any writer can relate to, as much as we all hate it! Thank you so much for your heartfelt comment on my poem about Cody! God Bless you! :)

The benefit of a word processor is that you can just close the window when you get frustrated, and it goes away. It's gone. There's no blank screen. When there's paper, though, you've got to burn that empty page to get the same effect. Since I got a computer, I've saved lots of money on matches.

Great write! You know it's sad how much I can relate to this. But it's true. I hate writers blocks. I always feel like I want to crack open my skull and suck the ideas out with a plunger then just splash them onto paper like a morbid drawing. But...then...that wouldn't be too pretty, would it? Hehe!!! ^_^ Great job! Hope the writers block is gone soon!
