Mystral sprinted out the darkness looking for a hiding spot. Mystral belonged to a race of Telepathic traders, the Moonchild Clan, from the world of X'talianize. She travelled with her parents and the rest of the clain, journeying from world to world, trading bits & pieces, scrapping out a living. But something had gone wrong on this world.

They had landed on the world of Metrily, in the Delta Quadrant. Mystral and her parents had set up a stall in the local market, enjoying a day of trading. She had just finished helping her parents packing up stuff to be taken back to the ship since they and the other members of the clan were heading out in the morning to a nearby planet in the same solar system. Stretching she yawned, while her parents talked quietly about the day's trading. Mystral nodded as her parents asked her to go back to the ship, set up some things then come back for the last load.

Nodding in agreement, Mystral headed to the space dock where their ship was moored. Humming, she quickly completed her tasks. Grabing a light and her backpack, she palmed the ship's hatch shut and locked it. Quickly striding she headed back to the market place wanting to get things done and get some sleep. Nearing the square she heard arguing, Mystral quietly slipped from doorway to doorway until she had a good but hidden view of the sound. Spying, she saw her parents arguing with strangers, Mystral sent a message to her parents. *Mum, Dad what's going on?* she asked them.

Replying, her dad said, *They want something we supposedly have bought here earlier today. Quickly, head back and warn the others* Before Mystral could obey, the strangers shot her dad and mom. Mystral bolted, but she knocked over a barrel. Looking up, the strangers shouted and pointed in her direction. Mystral quickly ran for her life.

Sprinting, she spied a open doorway and ran in their. She stopped and looked around, she was in a church of all things. Mystral, stopped in her tracks, then had a sudden thought. Being not very religious, she did know some churches still had nuns, Mystral decided to see if she could borrow an outfit. Quietly and quickly she slipped up the stairs, having noticed that the occupants were in a service, looking in the rooms she spied the laundry room. Mystral snatched up a garment and quickly put it on.

Mystral ran back down the stairs quickly and once she got to the door, adopted a slow and thoughtful pace, making sure to keep her hood up and face hidden. She serenely walked down the street right past the men looking for her. Once Mystral knew she was safely away, she ripped off the outfit and made a dash through the darkness. Sighing with relief and safeness, she sprinted back up to another of the clan's ships. Mystral blurted out her story to other members, the leader dialed up the space police and had Mystral repeat her story.

Arriving at the ship, the police and other clan members had Mystral escorted back to the square where they found the bodies of her parents. The Moonchild Clan took charge in directing the body be taken back to the ship for safety and Harrel the Clan leader went with Mystral back to the police station. Mystral sat looking through books and books before spying the two responsible for her parent's death. Mystral was told she could leave and go back to the ship but was asked to stay in the vicinty.

Back at the ship, Mystral's clan held a service for her parents, arranging for one of the smaller ships to take the body back to the homeworld where the clan resided. Next morning Mystral was informed that the culprits had been caught and dealth with. Sadly Mystral was relieved while she knew nothing could bring them back, at least she still had her family the Clan. Mystral knew she was lucky, better then being left alone, at least with the clan she would never be alone in her life.
