Torn between two lives one is dark and the other is light. Starting out with the dark. The stronger side been in many fights with drinking, drugs, guns, knives, and thugs. This is the side that knows how to survive. It is a fact no matter how far I get pushed back I always come back stronger. Been threw so much from the hood to the clubs. Very stubborn to learn the way to be have to learn hard for that is me. It took jail, fines, and that PO of mine to get where I am today.
Now looking at the light side the right side this is the way I want to be but yet that is the weak side so I don’t know how to be. Turn to God and all that is right living in the light. Dropping all that is sad and bad in the darkness to turn to light. No rap music, swearing, or anymore fights.
You see the problem is to me that both sides tend to show onsite one sec it dark and the next it’s light. It’s like there is a fight inside me. Wish I may it wont go away tell I make up my mind. Can it be both as I am trying to be is that right is that the way to be?

There's a little bit of good and a little bit of bad in us all. There is always that "wrestling of the flesh" that the Bible says we have. Some people portray it with a good angel and a bad one on either shoulder. What WE have to do is exercise our will and self control, and in doing so and choosing positive actions... we strengthen our conscience and in time... it will guide us in the right course of action time and again. :-)
Lonnie,
You ask a question at the end of your poem - Can it be both as I am trying to be - is that right - is that the way to be? Actually, it's more like 3 questions. I would say the answer to all 3 is 'YES'. Life is a struggle, especially when you're trying to do the right thing and turn to the Lord....You know you're in for a fight. You say one sec it's dark and the next, it's light.. That is part of the struggle. But you seem to have a good grasp on it. Just keep fighting, looking for the Light and don't give in or give up.
