Her Dad......
by Jeniffer Brand (Age: 38)
copyright 09-08-2002

Age Rating: 18 to 127

The one who chose her and loves her.....
The one who raised her.
The one who cared for her and held her.....
The one who provided for her.
The one who played with her and told her stories.....
The one who laughed with her.
The one she ran to when whe was scared.....
The one who protected and comforted her.
The one who taught her to fly and let her fly.....
The one who let her fall.
The one who picked her up and dusted her off.....
The one who released her in a different direction.
Her Dad.....
The one she loved and adored.
The one she needed and looked up to.
The one she loves and adores.
The one she needs and looks up to.
The one she will always love and adore.
The one she will always need and look up to.
Her Dad.

Wow, how special! I sure wish I had a relationship like THAT with my Dad. Alas, he was not such a nice person (and I wrote about him at http://www.prose-n-poetry.com/display_work/690 - BURNING MEMORIES) and briefly in (HER NO WAS NEVER HEARD - http://www.prose-n-poetry.com/display_work/1697)... reading those (which you already read BURNING MEMORIES) and it should be easy to find out what he did and how I feel about him.

Fortunately for me, I met DON (my husband) who is everything to me. He is my best friend, my lover, my soul mate...and my father figure. I so admire and respect him and am elated that my children have the father I never did. :-) I am glad you do as well!

I read all the comments an agree with all of them. Couldn't have said it better myself. My Dads been dead now for 8 years now, I wish I could say I had that special kinda relationship with him. It sounds beautiful. DIXIE LEE

In this piece I really enjoyed your relaxed style and the real feeling of admiration. This is such an easy piece to read and so easy to connect with. You really stirred up some wonderfully sentimental feelings and connected with your audience! Thanks!
