Once My Best Friend
by Jeniffer Brand (Age: 38)
copyright 09-08-2002

Age Rating: 10 to 127

You are my best friend.
You've held me when I cried,
Cheered me on when I succeeded,
Laughed with me when I was happy.
You know all my faults and still like me!
You gave me confidence and strength,
Held my hand and guided me.
Then stood back to watch me grow.
But you grew with me!
Our friendship grew stronger!
We grew closer and closer together!
And we now have a love we share together!
As we now continue to grow together,
Our friendship will continue to grow stronger,
And our love will continue to grow stronger.
And now, you're not just my best friend anymore,
But you're my lover,
My Soul Mate,
My World!

There's a country song that says, who makes better lovers than friends. I believe it is more nessessary for lovers to be friends, but you don't want to make every friend a lover! I'm glad you have someone that needs you as much as you need them! Thanks for this it was moving! Anthony

soul mates are special, aren't they? And though sometimes they are in our lives to stay, and sometimes only their memory... the other commentors are correct... it's a very special thing. One in my life I wrote a story for (http://www.prose-n-poetry.com/display_work/13713)and as you can tell... it was magic at first sight. Another is my mother and I wrote about her at (http://www.prose-n-poetry.com/display_work/728).

Both these people have left enuduring footprints on my life and I was blessed to know them both. Though the dancer in GOOD THINGS TAKE TIME is no longer in my life, my mother is and will be for all time. What makes them so special is not that they are there forever, but that their shadow is and that the mark left on your life was so extremely wonderful. :-)

I really liked the part that they know your imperfections and love you anyway. Bravo! Well, I'd love to know what you think of both my soul mate stories. Let me know.

Another cutie Jen. I really enjoyed this piece because I could feel your joy. I envy you, though, since you have obviously found someone very special. Make sure to read this one to whoever it is written for!
