A poem is a kite at its height, a starlight
Diction looking bright, on-site, downright
Metaphor full of fight, a snakebite of smite
Rhyme with all your might, a prizefight
Rhythm staying up all night, with moonlight
By lamplight, past midnight, say goodnight
Alliteration in sight, no seachlight, unite
Compression sewn airtight, a spaceflight
Meanings shedding light, forthright and sprite
Emotional delight and foresight, all firelight
Poetry recite in the spotlight, go invite
Autograph use grahite, handwrite, excite
Poem, up, up, and away, topflight, in daylight
Skywrite: eyebright, a taillight, a miswrite, uptight
Poetry rite: alright, checkbite, trite, a rewrite
