In silence she sits, lost in the darkness
of the shattered window of her once cherished life.
The sick reality settles in her heart,
she battles to burry the burdened strife.
Sadness still lingers, despondence still wins.
She weeps in her room, her soul likewise broken,
Its all become distorted, theres nothing left to love.
Yet now she stands up screaming, in an eerie whispered hush,
Its only too late now you see, its what there cannot be.
Violent winds have stripped her down of all sovreignity,
but she sits there, crying, dying,
silently, falling, crawling,
tear by tear, fear by fear,
Looking into an endless void of night,
Wasting immortal life.
Once a precious angel, once a treasured jewel,
Now her soul is breaking, her spirit left unfed.
Forevermore, she'll sit and mourn, it never sees an end.
Time is fading quickly, yet no one's there to mend,
A whispered cry sent out once again,
Inside she sits there, weeping, screaming,
tears pierce her skin, flowing freely from her eyes,
She sees the endless journey, a path filled with lies,
Worthlessness surrounds her, the silence growing wide,
Only once a child, so tender and serene,
Has withered, and has died.

We all have that child inside an as you know the older we get it seems to come back out in us if we survive the years of life. The poem is sad it makes me feel that the child has died an won't get the chance to come out again. DIXIE LEE

A sad poem, but very effective. It is always a source or sorrwow when the child inside does wither instead of learning to fly.
