You would think people would know when to give up
Think they would know when to stop crying
But the tears never seem to stop falling
And for some reason I just can't stop trying
You might think that the pain would finally kill
That everything would soon be too much
Yet I just can't climb out of this rut
For my body betrays the mind for your touch
You would hope that it would turn out in the end
That the pain suffered brought something to gain
Yet like masochists we never seem to abstain
Till like crystalline drops we fall hard as the rain

I think this is frightening because of how close to reality it is. People complain of wishing to stop hurting, yet do so much harm to themselves. I love this poem and I think it's one of your best.
That poem seems to be bringing out so many things that people can't realy know how to share. I feel as though you have so much more inside that you're having trouble dealing with. Don't take me to heart I just have a tendency to read between the lines. I really should know better. Nice poem. good expressions. DIXIE LEE
