Eternal
by Kimberly Grim (Age: 28)
copyright 06-29-2001

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Across this lonely mountainside,
the cold and shadow lay.
Here is where I was forced to come,
To my debt I must repay.

Hold tight to your dreams, they said
Forever isnt' long.
Forever is an eternity,
and I can never right this wrong.

Left alone and beaten,
my tender heart is shattered.
And back there in forgotten mist,
my dreams are left and battered.

Those crystal gems lay open,
on cold and barren rock.
Rushing rivers bring them forward,
my secrets I can't lock.

Many emotions in this poem. Secrets, no matter how hard we bury them seem to find ways to escape.
