Letting go
by Kimberly Grim (Age: 28)
copyright 06-29-2001

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Festering wounds
like scabs
not quite healed over.
The silence of life,
of your life,
ended with a bang.
Hold tight to your dreams,
they tell me.
How can I,
when its six feet under?
Cold dirt covered by
eerie green grass
is all that remains.
Scattered on the wind,
the ashes of hope.
What I once held so dear.
The time to let go has come,
I was told.
What for?
6 years have come and gone.
Almost.
I will never forget,
my dearest,
and I will never let go.

Wow, you described that great. I know that feeling.

Hard to find words to say how this poem affected me. I read this as successful suicide of someone loved which is so very tragic, along with being incrediably difficult for all who survive in the wake. Very powerful.

Hey Kim. This one really is powerful...not usually given to tears, this one really moved me. Bunny
