What Is Beauty?
by Janelle Coulter (Age: 27)
copyright 09-15-2002

Age Rating: 10 to 127

What IS Beauty?

Is it you?
Is it me?
Is it Black or White?
Is it Asian, Hawaiian, Russian?
British? African? Spanish?
Is it the girl with short hair or the girl with long hair?
Is it the girl with acrylic nails or the one that grew her own?
Is it red hair or blonde? Black hair or brown?
Is it green eyes or blue? Gray or black? What about purple?
Is it the long-legged model strutting down the runway in a designer outfit?
Is it the girl next door wearing a simple pair of jeans and a T-shirt?

What Is Beauty?

Does it mean a size 2 or a size 14?
Does it mean skin as dark as night or a snow white complexion?
What about having your hair done everyday?
Or having a professional do your makeup?

What Is Beauty?

Is it having the best clothes or the best personality?
Is it having more money or more charm?
Is it having more cleavage or more brains?
Is it the most popular girl in school?
That shy little bookworm?
The girls' basketball star?
The drama queen?
The cheerleading captain?
Who?
What?

Someone said once that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Am I beautiful to you?0

I liked your poem asking questions is a way to draw people out to see what their thinking. You did a fantastic job of . You had enough questions anyone could find one they could ponder over. DIXIE LEE

A great question. You poem stirs that pondering I think most people ask at one time or another. Good job.
