The Top is Near
by Eric Carrillo (Age: 28)
copyright 09-20-2002

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Don’t look down, just keep climbing.
Feel the strain begin to take over? The top seems very near, and yet, it’s far away.
Don’t get discouraged! The mountain ledge seems to mock and scorn,
And muscles begin to protest. Feel that sudden ache? Ignore it, just keep consentrating on that goal!
Ignore that sudden cramp, and that overwelming burning in the arms and legs.
Keep looking forward !
Up, Up, it’s tough to keep the courage,
But the feat will be rewarding…

Absolutely right. The more one tries, the more one succeeds.
It is always harder at the end but so much more satisfying. The spirit then climbs higher.

The harder the task, the greater the feeling when you achieve the results you desire. Good write, Anthony

A brief, lucid and inspirational piece of free verse. Well worth reading!

I think I'll have to remember this one everytime I have to go to the gym. Very inspirational.

Kept me on the end of my seat the whole time I was reading it. Good expressions. DIXIE LEE
