Welcome to my dreams;
it's of childish fantasies.
It's full of happy themes
and dancing families.

It's a world of peace,
and a place of joy.
No one suffers misery in the least;
everyone is overjoyed.

How sad it is
that reality can't be anything
like our fantasies;
In the real world, we are aching.

We ache to please,
we aim to win;
when we don't, we're like zombies;
wondering where we have sinned.

Hmm. Perhaps it's what we (as a society) condition ourselves to believe we must aim for and ache for. Do we create our reality or does reality create us or... hmm. A sneaky little poem, Natalie. Seems simple, but not simple at all in, er, reality! :-)

Its terrific to read your poems here. This is excellent. I was smiling as I read it, then hit the twist and went "wow" - sadly at times, this is too true. The reality you wish to live is not the reality that you are living in. Well written.
