Leaving my dream
by Tony Channing
copyright 09-25-2002

Age Rating: 16 to 127

I wake up at three to see your face
You’ve come to my dreams before
Coming to me, you make my heart race
I see you at my door

I open my eyes and you have gone
A fleeting visitor to my soul
All to soon it’ll be dawn
You’ll assume your numinous role

I try to sleep to see you once more
But slumber will not come
I open my eyes and look at the door
I feel my heart drum

Your hand held out
You beckon me follow
I come I have no doubt
I follow without sorrow

Looking back, I see myself
My body fast asleep
I’m flying away with an elf
The nymphs my soul to keep

Just like the nursery rhymes my mother read to us as children. Thanks, Anthony
