Time
by Eric Carrillo (Age: 28)
copyright 07-02-2001

Age Rating: 1 to 127

Ticktock ticktock ticktock, the hour strikes seven and the day begins.
Ticktock ticktock ticktock, the hour strikes again, and I ask myself, "Where did the hour go?"
The race is never ending,
it continues moving forward from day to day.
Ticktock ticktock ticktock, the hour strikes once more.
It is an invisible enemy, that is found everywhere and nowhere,
it grins and smerks, as it observes its victum's feble aferts to defeat it.
Ticktock ticktock ticktock, Time can not contain itself,
grinning it begins to move faster,
The eleven o'clock appoint is so much nearer...
Ticktock ticktock ticktock, don't just sit there staring at Time's mocking grin!
The hour has struck, surprised?
Ticktock ticktock ticktock, there is no escape from this advisary!
With a nasty little grin, Time says,
"I will follow you where ever you go! The clock I will speed when you are late,
and when the boring meetting becomes unbearable, the clocks I will drowse, second by second,
until you yawn, and you nearly fall over...
Ticktock ticktock ticktock Time triumphantly strikes nine pm,
With a grin it plots its plan for tomorrow.
Get your rest while you can...
Ticktock ticktock ticktock, So you say you'll forget that clock?
I suppose you could,
but, be aware, of the consequences...

Thank you for being so kind as to read and comment on my Phoenix series. Parts 3 and 4 are coming quickly as they are already written. *smug smile* FINALLY! LOL. It's great to see you here and can't wait to read more of your work. I have to say... you are an inspiration. Keep it up.

Pleased to meet you, Eric. I like your poems, I like your way of thinking...but I hope someday you decide that time is a friend, I guess as a student you are trying to cram a lot into a little time, so it may be an enemy for now.
Keep up the great work. Betty
