A fathers pride and a childs embrace,
So easy to see with just a peek at my face.
As the wisdom of truth, in passing time,
From a succulent grape, to a withering vine.
Grandeur and riches, austerity did not find,
Resolved toward the end, twas all in the mind.
Finally, deep joy and content,
Now sketched into my eternal gaze.
Victory is in mine passing,
Lifes long endless race.
Tears slowly trickle down my cheek,
Looking back at the long winding road.
Just pausing for a moment,
To rest my heavy load.
The twilight colors now disperse in the westernly sky,
After the violent storm now has passed.
I humbly leave all the countless memories,
Eternal love that forever last.
