Older and Wiser
by Barry Clopton Lanier (Age: 53)
copyright 10-07-2002

Age Rating: 16 to 127

When mature and maybe just a little wiser.
At the pinnacle of life, nodding yet content.
In retrospect I measure with wonder.
All the blessed times that I've really spent.
Shall I notice the blue and golden skies.
Or how much time was spent in His grace.
And the giving not receiving.
In my own little special way.
Things once a main priority.
Slipped down to now only a lost cause.
But I cling to the family and friends.
Oh my great friends, including the ones that are now lost.
But the sun still rises in the West.
And yes, the sun still sets in the East.
The wisdom of the ages is still just wisdom.
The one that gives everlasting peace. Amen

Amen is a good ending but I would consider in jesus name Amen. The poem is considerate and has true statement of what often occur.
Thanks

Amen is the perfect ending to this poem.
