On a summer night deep in the country
The coal black sky holds the stars and the moon
Now in the quiet hear the dancing loons
The stars their lanterns, a night canopy
Watching loons waltzing is pure ecstasy
Gliding all around wings spread as they spoon
Doing tonight what they won’t do at noon
In awe see them dance for eternity
Tonight to sheer romance we are reduced
Here close my arms they are open to you
This soft glowing heart will hear no excuse
Under the moon and the stars I’ll hold you
In a warm summer waltz meant to seduce
Loons will stop dancing to watch me and you.
