Down a highway of life by chance we first met,
The day I can't remember, the feeling I can't forget.
As mollasses my heart did melt,
To soon it would settle in my throat.
A young lad who'd first love he had felt,
Yet at the time he didn't really know.
Warm summer days we'd spend playing in the sun,
Rolling down hills of fresh green grass.
We were as two just one, creating memories,
And a bond that would forever last.
Vows, then music and laughter,
Endless visions and dreams
Rocking on the front porch,
Facing endless landscapes of green
Oh how much I did love her,
Never really telling her how deep.
Together we'd laugh,
And together we would weep.
We lived life as fast as life could afford,
Precious time with the children trying to pass along the sword,
I'll love and hold to, and cherish and keep,
Abiding in the comfort, of a friendship so deep.
On a cool fall evening,
My true love was sent.
A winters chill filled my spirit
As homeward she then went.
