And as I was standing barefoot in cold muddy water
It was terrible
It was as bitter as biting on a cold, hard, green sugarplum
It was unnerving, it was unpopular
And yes at the time unplanned
I didn't have the time to think about it
No time to resist it, or even decide if I wanted it
It was so embarrasing in front of my best friend Bo
At sixteen,in the peak of my manhood, why it was even
unmanly
Maybe even a little sissy
Immersed in the cold, muddy water of the tracks of my 65 Ford Falcon
Yes, the one with three nails in the right back tire
So it surely didn't come at a good time
But, ya know, after I got home
And done a little deciphering about the situation
It was my first one, yes it was my first
And maybe it really was a little better, than bitter
Especially since I became a man and all
I had no idea she would stop and speak to me on that cold, muddy road
To lean out her window, and give me my first fall.
"Everyone remembers that first kiss"
