Serena's Heart Song
by Haley Thistle (Age: 19)
copyright 02-17-2003

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Why did you forget so fast?
It was hard for me too.
It was funny to think back.
How we use...used to be happy.
But you went away.
You left me a ring.
Why haven't you called?
What are these cards?
Why are you fading.
Why does it hurt to remember.
Friends vanish.
My last friend has gone back home.
It's easy to see what's in front of me.
But all that is gone.
All is left is stars.
The stars of music.
The stars of sailors.
A new friend has arrived.
She's kind of like you.
Why did you leave?
Is it for money?
Is it for me?
I enjoy your picture on the wall of my room.
But I haven't seen or heard the real you.
Why haven't called.
Was it beacuse of me?
Or beacuse of the pain I cause.
I can't see what's in front of me.
I'm fading like your face.
Those sweet dreams erased.
Those half remembered harmonys.
Our songs of peace.
Love and joy.
Hope to keep.
Was it me?
Or the fate that brings us closer.
The love our hope will long for.
The dreams of tomorrow.
And the hope of a new star.
And our bright new future shining strong!
