Baby Peanut
by Jeniffer Brand (Age: 38)
copyright 10-30-2002

Age Rating: 10 to 127

I'm your Aunt Jenny waiting patiently for you to grow.
You're in my sister's belly and developing slow.

I wish I could watch you as you kick, as you move.
Growing bigger and stronger to enter into life's groove.

But you and your parents have been moved to a different land.
And with the miles between us, you're not just at hand.

See, your Daddy's in the army and keeping the peace.
Your Mom's at his side supporting this fire to cease.

I love you already just knowing you'll be here.
And in me, your little heart and soul will always be dear.

When you're ready to enter this world.....know I will be there!
I'll watch you being born and take your first breath of air!

BUT...until I get there...stay put...no if and no but!
Because Aunt Jenny loves you, you're my little peanut!

A very beautiful and inspiring poem.

Very loving from a most loving Aunt

Little peanut is not so little any more, but I'm sure is still your heart's delight.

A well writen poem which reaches out and plays on one's heart-strings.

Bravo,

~Rich

Firstly, congratulations on the impending addition to your family. Secondly, thanks for sharing, and like the others, I hope you keep this to show "your peanut" one day.

I really like this poem, it's very cute. I do think, however, that couplet six seems out of place because it is shorter than the rest. This is a really sweet sentiment though, and I agree with Maralee, you should share the poem with peanut. ^^

I hope that you keep this poem to give to the little peanut when they are old enough. It is a great poem. I really likedthe idea ofthe aunt talking to an unborn neice or nephew.
