The Frozen Child
by Jessie Baldwin (Age: 20)
copyright 11-04-2002
Contest Winner

Age Rating: 13 to 127

My eyes are cold and
pale, the emotion has
been drained from
them.

My lips are pale and
lifeless, the redness
is no more.

Feel my hands, they're
icy cold. So thin and
sickly they look.

My body so thin and
frail. No warmth in
me at all.

Grains of ice cling
to my hair, so cold I have
become.

People see me
and I look to them for
warmth and comfort.

But they only turn their
backs on me for they fear me,
The Frozen Child.

I don't care for the latest cloths or the cutest boys. Why should I care about cloths that would makes me popular when I can wear something that makes me, me. Why should I care about the cute and coolest boys when I can have the sweet-hearted ones, the ones that like me for who I am,
No, I don't care for that kind of stuff at all.
All I care about is what life is giving me.

I've had days like that. People just stared at me...kinda like feeling alienated. It just doesn't seem fair to me. You've captured the emotions perfectly for this piece!
