Have I told that I love you
Have I showed you that I care?
Can you see it in my glances
Can you feel it in the air?

I do what I can when I can
And somehow it's not enough
I hug you, I kiss you, I smile
I do all that silly love stuff

And still I feel the need
To find another way
To express what I'm feeling
And say what I've got to say

So maybe I'll make a card
Perhaps I'll send some flowers
I could even sing a song
Or dance in April showers

No matter what I do
And whether you laugh or not
I want you to know what you hold
When it's my heart you've got

You're the best mother I've seen
A pretty good work mate too
The warmest friend a friend could have
Your pretty good at just being you!

A room mate, a neighbor,
a confidante as well
A secret keeper I confide in
When I share all that I tell

A daughter, a sister,
A lover, so I've heard
But I won't tell who told me...
I think it was a bird

So thanks for all you are
And thanks for all you do
Thanks for being my friend....
Thanks for just being YOU !

I am not going to kid you, you are on your eay to a great poem. Yes, great! But you need some discipline. The ONLY distracting thing to me is that you bounced back and forth in you meter which made your cadene a little ragged. You moved fro 8 to 6 and 7 syllablesto a linw. Try to use only 8 in every line, don't be tempted to us more. Your timing will be better. Your choice of words are great. Practice discipline

Thank you very much for your kind words! My words "melt" together? Wow... I don't think anyone's quite described it like that. Well, I guess my ultimate goal is to "melt" the heart of the reader *giggle* .... so melt is a great word I think. Thank you!!!!!
