To live inside this world
Takes a special kind of breed
You must be filled with all the joy
that allows your heart to bleed.

Into this world of refuge
you still seek guidance home.
like spring is to winter
it's life's voice that keeps you alone.

A loving mother earth,
baby feeding at her breast
warms the body while it seeks
the solitude of fears at rest

With fingers always clawing
at the day just gone by
a child heard screaming,
Wipes a tear from another’s eye.

Days are never over
night just sorta comes
just as with each springtime
life enters another course run

Into your world of refuge
A voice oft calls to you
A seed from yesterday's memory
Of what you used to do

Children softly laughing,
As sure as the sun's last goodbyes,
each plays with your mood
now opening wide your eyes.

Days too quickly are over,
night is always near.
your breed put to the test,
last thoughts so crisp and clear.

Excellent Walter. I enjoyed the rhyme and rhythm and the message too.
