Seaside Draught Garden
Fat lizards basking in the sun,
meadow larks a singing;
something's always on the run
from the sea hawks a winging.
Birds bathing in the makeshift bath
splashing, spluttering wet;
British Gent does no math
yet his vibrator makes their jacuzzi jet.
Crickets dancing up the walls
they sometimes even jump;
weeds all died, dried up seed balls
on the mulch piled up in a hump.
Waiting for the rain to even out
it comes in spurts, then hides;
it makes me wonder what it's all about
until I remember the rhythm of the tides.
