"I really don't see the reasoning in all this, Melody. It seems so boreing...I don't get much into 'ballats' My 17 year old best friend, Lilly, was talking to me between yawns.
"You will one day, when you're more cultured, Lil. Maybe your kids will be better off because of this little excursion."
"Pfft. Yeah...right, Mel."
"Oh, and by the way...It's 'ballet'" I was trying to enjoy 'The Nutcracker Sweet' soon before my 14th birthday and had brought her along, hopeing it would culture her in some way...To no avail.
She leaned back in her seat with another yawn, her dark brown hair being pushed gently from her face, behind the seat. I rolled my light brown eyes at her, wondering if I should have brought her at all.
The Nutcracker prince danced across the stage and I sighed, thinking of how it would be like to be a princess...Maybe of some far off world....Maybe even a different planet...Or maybe even...
"Hello? Earth to Melody!" I blinked afew times and looked around as people filtered out of the illes. I had missed half the ballet day dreaming. "I'm sorry, Lilly. Must have dozed off..."
She growled at me with irritation, her brown eyes almost looking like a tree on fire... Some people had told me before that her eyes looked like a forest when she was mad.
"Come on, let's go! I am -SO- tired of this place..."
When we got outside, I blinked. Then blinked again. It seemed like something out of a bad horror movie...or some sick, twisted anime...or...or SOMETHING. Lilly, who was afew steps behind me, behind the glass doors, took one look at the sight and literally fainted...right there.
There were people running around everywhere, mostly out of fear, I would guess. But some, I think, out of pure shock, stood perfectly still in their places. I was one of those people...
There was this odd lady, dressed in black with red hair like fire and skin just abit lighter than my mexican/german/indian skin (I have alot more in me, but...well, just don't ask.), looking like she was forceing her way into the ampa-theater.
She was accualy kinda pretty, but what made her so...wierd to me were her eyes. They glowed white when someone came near her... Then, they were flung off. That's why people were running away so fast. They were scared. She didn't really scare me much... She just seemed so different to me.
Afew security guards tried running up on her. They were flung so hard, they went... "SPLAT" on the walls of the theater.
As she approched to where I stood, part of me wanted to run away. But most of me wouldn't let my body move from it's spot. So, I stood and waited for what I thought would be my end.
When she got close, she stopped. By this point, Lilly had awoken and was walking up behind me. We were raised like sisters, and were god-sisters besides, so we had grown kinda protective over one another. But even knowing that hadn't propaired me for what she did next.
Lilly steped infront of me, her brown eyes their normal, dark brown color, and crossed her arms, watching the raven haired woman. Her body shivered abit, her skin, just abit lighter then mine, covered in goose bumps. I couldn't help but wish my parents, especialy my dad, were there.
They were taller then us: I was 5'4" and Lilly was 5'6"; Mom was 5'8" and Dad was 5'11". My dad was strong and mean when someone was mean to me. My mom was just plan crazy when someone acted like they wanted to hurt me. Under normal surcomstances, she was almost regal, like her mom, my grandmother... She was even goofy, at times. I still didn't think the woman wanted to hurt us, but I HAVE been wrong more than once or twice before.
"I don't want to hurt your...friend...so just calm down, Lilly. I have come because I feel your powers reaching their...maturity."
When she wasn't doing the weird eye thing, her eyes were almost as dark as her hair, looking really dark brown, like my mom's...
"How did you know her name? And who are you?" I couldn't help but ask. I didn't think she knew this woman, and it was freaky having someone know a friend and you don't know them... Atleast, when they are someone like this lady was.
