Royal Flush
by Ross H. Bruce
copyright 07-12-2001

Age Rating: 18 to 127

Greetings to all - you crazy and witty gamblers!
Welcome to my humble abode - the House of Cards.
Where the Diamond is King and the Club sparks
The Ace of Spade enthralls the Queen of Hearts.

A mecca of four suits and greenish felt.
With adrenaline rushing and bulging belts.
House rules that change from time to time
But bluffing is encouraged and not a crime.

Unsuited straight beats three of a kind
But no pair can split with flushes; sometime
Couple of small pairs can lose at any time
To bigger pairs that happen to be in a blind.

Deuce of club can be the joker sometime
Or the one-eyed Jack if the players are wild.
But watch out for pair of aces in a blind
Humble your two kings unless you trip on time.

Do you know the highest ranking of them all?
Straight flush can be check-raise or call.
Royal Flush trounces all four of a kind
Unless you have quads and deuces are wild.
