On a grassy bank
by a flowing river
sits a boy with a fishing rod.
From his thoughtful mouth
hangs a blade of grass
every now and then he'll nod.
In the distance he sees
tall mountain peaks
from where the water flows.
The towering sun
sends down beams of light
to make his reflection glow.
Across the stream
in the morning light
he sees two fawns at play.
Over boulders and logs
they chase each other
in the warmth of a summer day.
There's a bobcat
with a shiny coat
catching fish from the water.
He takes his prize
to the river bank
and he's thankful that he caught her.
Right here's God's love
in the forrest green
and in the playful creatures.
There's no better place
in this land of ours
to find these natural teachers.
