Feathers
by Ross H. Bruce
copyright 07-13-2001

Age Rating: 18 to 127

O feathers take me with you
Glide me to the places I never knew
Let me touch the sky while it's blue
Make it my pillow to dream a few
Fly me to where my heart belongs
To inspire me and make my soul strong
Lullaby me gently with your whispering song
When the wind caresses you once more.
Take me to the places where no storm rages
And the sun and moon refuse to grow
Let me recast my shadow on those empty byways
Beneath the amber leaves and distant plateau.

Gosh, I like feathers. :) Second poem I read today with feathers in it. Should it be my turn to write about them? *giggle* I'll think about it.
