Seeing the world through your eyes,
Helps to give us pause,
New things such a wonderful surprise,
And all of it because
We waited many years,
For God to grant us a child,
Who calmed all our fears,
With a temperament so mild
We watch you learn, with pride,
And as you grow so tall,
We’re standing by your side,
To support you through it all
With each bruise and bump,
Every tear and scratch,
We’ll kiss away each lump,
When you fall, we’ll catch
Looking into your tiny face
And beautiful blue eyes,
I take on my new mothering place,
And now pretend to be wise
Now I know that never
Could anyone have told me,
That you would be so clever,
Or how much you would mean to me
James, you are my little joy,
The wonder of my world,
My perfect little, happy boy,
Waiting for life to unfurl.
