Senseless lids

Of what you did

Of losing you
Take the coins
The charade’s through

Snatch the pennies
All that’s left
Soon corrupt
I gave my best
No more money
Born of pain
Flushed like me
Right down the drain

Snatch the pennies
Light a Kent
Wonder where
The gold goose went
Check my pockets
Coup de Gras
Flip me o’er
Kiss my dead ass

Thanks Karen and Kelly. Glad you liked it. Actually, in the final stanza, the wife is checking his pockets for more money as a final insult (slap) and our dearly departed (the corpse) achieves peace as she leaves.
