The Hunt
by Eric Carrillo (Age: 28)
copyright 07-15-2001

Age Rating: 1 to 127

Sometimes problems present themselves,
they are pesky flies, they buzz buzz buzz,
and as hard as one might try, they do not go away.
Its a puzzle, a mystery waiting to be solved.
From a distance, it calls, begging to be found.
But this, it is a tricky beast, it keeps its distance,
but encourages the victim to discover it.
Sometimes the puzzle seems nearly solved,
but just as the last piece is about to be placed and the treasure
found,
one discovers that the final piece has fled from view.
The searching begins once again.
Through the wilderness of thoughts and ideas, the chase gradually
progresses.
The beast bears its razor sharp teeth, as the hunter approaches
it,
the hunt looks like its about to end,
the line of thoughts begins to unwind, slow at first, then
gradually they begin to take shape.
The pieces slowly begin to shift and come together;
The line of thought continues to unwind, like a snake preparing
to strike its prey.
The beast appears to be cornered, the final piece of the puzzle
seems to be found.
Across the horizon a sunrise of hope comes into view, with its
brightest colors.
The hunter fits an arrow to his bow, aims and shoots,
but a last the beast has managed to escape once more.
The puzzle is not yet solved, but the rocky trail is still
visible in the deep woods.
The sunrise of hope continues to rise ever slowly, this time
the beast has left a well imprinted track to follow.
This hunter does not except defeat.
The line of thought continues to unwind, only one thing left
to solve the puzzle.
courage is required to continue along the trail of discovery...

Thanks a lot for stopping by. I'm not usually impressed with my work, it always seems to be missing some thing, but this one was one that I was able to feel at peace with. Although, some times I still wonder, if it isn't missing some thing.
Thanks again for visiting.

I especially agreed with the last line! *sigh*
