In the End
by Heidi K.
copyright 07-16-2001

Age Rating: 18 to 127

When the end comes and my soul screams will
there be anyone to hear?
I find it dim and doubtful locked
as I am behind these four walls.

The straight jacket of my own making
strangles me,
Crushing out the very last breath
as I succumb to what must be.

So when the end comes as it surely will
will you remember me
My bright eyes close for one last time
and all I could bring myself to think was...

"I loved you."

Gosh! I know this feeling. I know it well. Of all I've done and will be remembered by, I wish my love for "HIM" to be remembered for all time. If I have anything to do about it, my poetry will make sure of it. *grin*
