Distant Memory
by Emily Garwood (Age: 21)
copyright 03-27-2003

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Distant memory,
A sorrowful day,
Dressed in black,
Can't I go home yet?

Memories gone,
I sit in bed,
Crying at the memories back,
I'm glad i'm alone right now.

Scent so strong,
What's that smell?
I remember now,
Another distant memories coming.

I miss him much,
The way he sat,
Legs to one side,
Let this memory stay.

The last few days we spent,
Cuddled together in the house,
My only friend, I love you so much,
Let this memory forever stay with me.

~*~Note~*~
This was written in memory of my first doggie Rusty who meant alot to me as he came from my grandparents.
I now know why they say a pet is a best friend for life.
Since it´s written for him i´d lke it to be improved all help would be great ^^

So sad and I do know how you feel. My dogs we laughingly refer to as our children. They have so much personality if you just pay attention to them! Sorry for your loss, Anthony

I have lived this poem too and it perfectly portrays the deep loss. Awesome! Take a ten.
