You know my words,
You know so much.
You know so many things about me
Except the feeling of my touch
I know your face,
I know your smile,
I know your heart.
And I’d learn so much about you
If I could hold you___________!
When the music starts…….

If we could dance
Melody sweet
If I could whisper that I love you
Simply sweep you off your feet
And make romance
Kiss tenderly
If I could finally show I need you
All the things you are to me
If we only had that chance you’d truly see____!
If we could dance.

You’ve heard me say,
I love you so,
A thousand times,
Like an echo in a canyon
The words reverberate I know
And you love me,
It’s clear to me,
Though far apart
Night would be so magical if I could hold you___________!

Thanks very much for your response. That's okay Mary. I grow more senile every day. At my age, I refuse to be frustrated by my forgetfulness. I am just glad to be alive and reasonably well. LOL! I liked your poem very much. I wrote this one last year and it has a a fairly decent melody. I'd like to record it professionally some day.
