Middle-Side-Out
by Colette Reynolds (Age: 21)
copyright 02-18-2003

Age Rating: 7 to 127

I feel so confused,
And my heart is gonna burst,
Cause when I think about you,
Someone wants to make me hurt,
I'm a goofy teen,
And all I need to say,
Is everything is messed up,
And life can always turn so grey,
My life is going spiral,
While my heart is stuck outside,
And then there comes a moment
When I'm in the middle or to the side,
You've got me by a thread,
And I'm hanging from this limb,
So much for being outside,
When people push you in,
I'm so amazingly inspired,
With endless thoughts of what to write,
'Cause everything's so messed up,
And nothing seems too right,
My heart is pounding faster,
Cause of all the jealous words,
And all I want to do now,
Is cut out my feelings,
Only where it hurts,
I really what the love,
And everything to go right,
But in the end it's simple,
For a teenager...nothing is right,
Cause we're in the middle and to the side,
until we can grasp our true virtues,
and our sense of pride.
